Tips and tricks to help you rank better and increase engagement on Instagram.
All in all, you should always keep in mind that Instagram wants users to engage on Instagram, and your strategy should work in that direction to achieve your goals.

If you're ready, let's get started ...

1. Improve your Instagram bio.
Your Instagram bio is one of the first things people do when they visit your profile, and you want them to say something interesting about your brand that will eventually scroll them down and follow your page.

However, bio is not just a place to talk about your brand, but to make sure your profile is searchable for your keywords. There are two ways to add keywords to your Instagram profile. First, you can add keywords to your profile name. For example, if you're a fan, you can add a keyword like "Instagram influencer" to your profile name, as shown below.

The second way is to include secondary keywords in the bio, as the lead pages have included some of your most important keywords.

Here are some other ways to improve your Instagram bio:
  1. Add Emoji / Symbols
  2. Add your brand, hashtag.
  3. Add an UTM to the connection and abbreviate it.

2. Use the correct hashtag.
On Instagram, users can follow specific hashtags that allow you to discover feeds from people who don't follow you but are interested in the topic you cover.

Therefore, using relevant and specific hashtags in your posts and stories can help increase your engagement and attract new followers that can translate into more customers for your business.

To find the most relevant hashtags for your posts, you can use tools such as tailwinds, keyholes and social information.

3. Share infographic posts.
Infographic or educational posts are one of the most interesting types of content on Instagram because such posts increase the number of savings on your post, which is important for the Instagram algorithm.

The more you save your post, the more the Instagram algorithm finds it interesting and increases the reach of that particular post. And since these are informative posts, people like to share their opinions on the topic that keeps the post engaged.

So, always try to share informative posts that are important to your audience about your product or service.

4. Post long videos.
Instagram allows you to share videos up to 60 seconds on IGTV, you can share long videos and share your preview on your Instagram feed and stories.

The longer your videos, the more time people will spend on your content, allowing you to get to your website via the IGTV description link.

As mentioned above, Instagram wants us to spend more time on the platform and it keeps people on the platform longer by posting longer videos. Therefore, Instagram also likes your content and provides wider reach among relevant audiences.

5. Use interactive stories to increase engagement.
Instagram has shaped the story since it was launched a few years ago. It constantly introduces new interactive stickers that allow consumers to interact with brands instead of just being spectators.

Interactive stickers like questions, quizzes, polls and countdown allow you to engage your audience and spend more time on your stories. For example, when we were about to post this webinar on YouTube, we used a countdown sticker on our story that allows users to set a reminder when the countdown is over.

You can also add a link to stories that people can access by swiping to your story. This way you can send interested people to your blog post, landing page or YouTube Live as we did:

6. Add your top products as story highlights.
With story highlights, you can add stories to appear on your profile just below your story, even after the original story has disappeared. Now, if you sell products or provide services, featured stories can be used as a catalog from where users can visit your website and learn more about it.

For example, if you are an affiliate marketer, you can include your best-selling or popular affiliate product in a prominent story. That way, whenever a user visits your website, they can see all the tools you suggest.

Highlights of Instagram Stories are really an important part of your profile and you should take advantage of them to raise awareness about your offers for first time visitors and post them on your website.

7. Microblogging on Instagram.
Instagram is a platform for sharing photos and it is true that photos are worth a thousand words. However, combining a picture with a great story behind it makes more sense.

You can use Instagram as a microblogging platform where you can dig deeper, share a behind-the-scenes story with your followers, or give a lesson in the title of a post. For example, in the post below, we took a microblogging approach to the title to talk about image content.

The advantage of doing so is that users will spend more time on your posts and encourage discussion in the comments, which ultimately translates into greater engagement and wider access to the post.

8. Enter the price
People like dating on Instagram, they save quotes, they like them and they share them with others, which translates into more engagement.

So, whether you're running a restaurant, running a retail store, or building a personal brand, dating works for all types of audiences to keep them engaged and engaged.

You can take advantage of Pinterest to quote your industry or product and use free tools like Kenova to quote your photos as shown below:

9. Get more clicks on your link in the bio.
Since you can't add a link to the captions of your Instagram posts, you want people to go to the webpage and click on your link in the bio to learn more.

Now, it's a good idea for people to visit your profile to find links and make deals, download ebooks, or read recent blog posts. However, you can make it easier for your followers by adding your profile username to the title, where they can go directly to your profile by clicking on the title.

The purpose of doing so d. Instead of offering a call to action with a direct title, just ask "see link in bio".

10. Add multiple links to your bio.
Well, you can't really add multiple links to your bio, but I have a trick to help you. You can add a link to a specific Instagram landing page where you can add links to other pages on which you want to drive traffic.

For example, if you are affiliated with Amazon, you can include a link to your affiliate page in the bio. Similarly, if you sell ebooks or courses, you can add a link to the landing page that highlights popular courses.

You can also use free tools like Link Tree for visitors to add multiple links to different websites or pages. This is how Seamersh uses the link tree to provide multiple links to his Instagram followers.

11. Run the Instagram giveaway.
Last but not least, you should give an Instagram to increase engagement and build an active fan base for your brand.

Instagram giveaways are time-limited competitions during which the brand promises to give something to one or more lucky entrants who meet a certain set of standards set by the brand.

Hosting an Instagram giveaway contest may seem daunting and expensive, but it's not. Rewards should be something that adds value to your audience and makes them feel good about winning.

Here are two types you can run on Instagram.

  1. Comment Picker Gift - In this gift, post a photo or video and ask people to comment and refer one (or more) friends to enter the contest. You then randomly select the winners from the participants.
  2. Hashtag Contest: In this type of gift, you ask people to post a picture or video of your product or anything related to a specific topic, and choose one of the winners. You can also add additional conditions to participate in the contest, such as following and mentioning your profile, tagging 2 (or more) friends in the title to get better participation.

Now, the success of Instagram depends largely on how you promote the competition and how you announce the winners.

While many brands run fake Instagram gifts to attract new followers, transparency on your part can go a long way in attracting wider engagement and followers for your brand.
