Note: In the next post of our YouTube Promotional Series, I will go into more detail about these sub-topics. If you are or intend to become a professional YouTuber, you must subscribe to our blog updates or download our iOS / Android app to stay updated.
1. Video title (customize it for more clicks)
The title of your video is widely viewed and shared on the Internet, or just a small decisive factor. The titles of your videos are an important factor in getting views and sharing or just getting a few views on the internet.
It's a good idea to do a proper search of YouTube keywords to find out what people are looking for, and then create a great title around it.
Here are some tips for writing great YouTube video titles.
- Keep them short and direct.
- Include the current year if you can (for example, key tips for 2018).
- Make it stand out.
- Include keywords at the beginning of the title (whenever possible).
- Use "words of strength" (eg: best, strongest, greatest).
- Use emotionally stimulating words (eg: sexual, lonely, emotional, censored).
- Make your headline bigger. Use this tool to help you.
2. Video tags: Use a limit of 500 characters.
One of the biggest mistakes that hinders the growth of your YouTube video organic promotion is the misuse of tags.
Tagging on YouTube works differently than blog posts. If you've never paid attention to YouTube tags, now is the time to get started. You can also go back and edit all your old labels.
Here are a few standards for utilizing YouTube video labels:
- Use a unique brand tag to display your videos in related videos. Example: Use your brand on all videos. (See screenshot below).
- Use your keywords as video tags.
- Use your keyword change as a tag (use YouTube's auto suggestion feature).
- Find used tags for advanced videos and use them in your videos. You can utilize the TubeBuddy Chrome expansion to help you discover labels utilized by others.
Remember, YouTube video tags are an important factor in the organic ranking of videos.
3. Use custom thumbnails on YouTube.
Verified YouTube accounts can take advantage of custom thumbnail features. A nice video thumbnail helps you stand out in the Relevant Videos and Suggested Videos section.
Here are some tips for thumbnails:
- 1280x720 reso-lution (with a base width of 640 pixel).
- Upload files in .JPG, .GIF, .BMP or .PNG format.
- Keep it below 2MB.
- Try using a 16: 9 aspect ratio, as it is commonly used in YouTube players and previews.
I don't want to confuse you with these technical aspects, but it is important that you know that you can create a thumbnail that works well on both desktop and mobile devices.
You can use thumb maker to design YouTube videos in minutes.
Make sure to follow the latest YouTube thumbnail standards:
- Take a resolution of 1280 × 720 (with a width of at least 640 pixels).
- Less than 2 MB in size.
- The 16: 9 perspective proportion works best.
- Use your image on the thumbnail to express emotions.
4. Use intro and ending videos for branding.
There are some branding things you need to do right now to make sure every video is featured. One of these things is to use branding intro and out.
- YouTube Introduction - A 3-5 second clasp that runs toward the starting to exhibit your image.
- YouTube Outro: It works in the end and can be as simple as showing relevant videos to your channel or asking users to like and subscribe to the video.
Getting YouTube intro and exit videos is easy, and you can create them yourself using Chemtasia or you can hire someone from Fowler.
If you don't have a channel logo yet, design it too.
5. Share videos on social media channels.
If you are a video blogger, your YouTube channel should have some social media features. It gives you the opportunity to build a community outside of YouTube and drive traffic from other popular social networks / social media channels. Yes
These are the sites that promote your YouTube videos.
- Facebook page
- Twitter profile
- Instagram profile
- Pinterest profile
You can use tools like Social Pilot to share videos on your social media channels.
Here's an important tip:
- Always share your videos after regular intervals.
I usually share each video at least 10-15 times within eight months of posting. Also, use hashtags when sharing so that others can easily find them.
6. Make a Website/blog for your YT Chanel.
If you're a full-time YouTuber, you shouldn't miss the opportunity to blog for your YouTube videos. Nowadays, it is very easy to embed YouTube videos in a blog and you can start a blog.
I suggest you create a blog and use a specific WordPress theme for videos. If you're already making money from YouTube, you'll want to use better managed WordPress hosting so you don't have to worry about maintaining your blog.
Bonus Tip: You can also buy a domain name and redirect it to your YouTube channel. That way, when somebody asks you, "How might I discover you on YouTube?" , You only share the domain name. Use this GoDaddy coupon to buy a domain name for 2.
7. Use YouTube playlists or add videos to existing playlists.
YouTube playlists are a great way to get more views of your existing videos. When you finish uploading a new video, add it to the playlist (either you created it or an existing one).
In case you are making another playlist, follow these means:
- Give the playlist a meaningful name and insert a keyword in the title of this playlist.
- Include a detailed description of the playlist and enter your keyword there.
- Group similar videos into playlists.
- You can add one video to more then one play-list.
YouTube playlists also appear in search results. Doing so enhances your video search.
8. Use Action to Call.
You need to inform people on social media sites about the steps you want them to take.
At the end of the video, or somewhere in between, ask viewers to like and subscribe to your channel. In addition, you can ask them to share the video with others who may benefit from it.
Most major YouTubers use "call to action" techniques to increase the reach of their videos with their users. If you have never done this before, start doing it with your next video.
You will be surprised to know that just asking your existing customers increases the number of shares.
9. Interview influential people in your niche.
This is definitely not a direct YouTube video advancement method that will advance your channel and will fit consummately into the general methodology of advancing your channel.
Interviewing an inspiring person gives you the opportunity to reach a community that is already thriving in your niche. Not only will you attract the attention of others who follow this particular influence, but you will also see the whole industry.
You can find the most influential people in your niche and you can interview them via Google Hangouts, Zoom or Skype. For Skype, you can use tools like Ecamm Call Recorder. The free version of Zoom allows you to record up to 45 minutes of video, which I use these days.
10. YouTube Creator Academy
One of the mistakes most YouTube marketers make is focusing on just posting more videos and stopping learning.
YouTube is one of the quickest changing stages and it is significant that you know every one of the current and arising tips and deceives.
You can use the YouTube Creator Academy to learn some props to get the most out of your YouTube videos (and your channel in general). When I first started learning here, I was amazed to learn so many development tips and tricks that I would otherwise remember.

Now, type the link to the message and video you want to promote. You can add .gif or image or even vote to make it more attractive. Your community can also like and comment on your posts, which is a good sign for more engagement. This is one of the still unused free video promotion techniques.
